Acts 5

in Acts 5 i was rather confused this morning as i read it. I understood it until i got to vs. 34.
where a respected pharasee stands and shares His feelings of the situation.
The Jist of what has happened to cause comotion is this:
The appostles have been out teaching in the Name of Jesus in Jeruselum. Pharasees got ticked and thus had them arrested. that night an angel came to them and set them free telling them to continue preaching in the Name of Jesus. Morning comes, the guards (which im kinda confused how the guards had not seen 12+ men walking out of the jail cell...once again proving that Roman Guards are MORONS!!!) anywho, the guards go to the cell to get the apostles to bring them before the ruler people and SURPRISE! the apostles are gone. they find them in Jeruselum teaching again in the Name of Jesus! (i love it! nothing was gonna stop theses guys!!) so anywho. The people loved them and the rulers hated them so when they brought them to the rulers the rulers demanded that they stop teaching in "That Name". (i love peters reply! read it, its in vs. 29-32 SO AWESOME!!) and after that the ruler people wanted to kill them. but where i was confused is what happens next. in Vs. 33-42. where one of the rulers stands and sends the apostles away for a second to speak with the people. and then he goes on to talk about past leaders that have led "mobs and people" and after the leader had fallen, their followers eventually dispersed because what they had been preaching was of human mind. and that the apostles should be set free because they will eventually disperse and no longer speak of this stuff anymore. but what is kul is what he says in vs. 38 and 39. he says that if what they are speaking of is of man then it wont stand firm. but if it is of God then there is nothing that anyone will be able to do to stop it and those who try to stop if will be against Go.
see i didnt catch that the first time i read it.
after the brought the apostles back in after the lil talk that Gamaliel had had with them, the apostles were told not to teach in "That Name" again and then they were beaten up and cast away. kul part is that in vs. 41-42 they leave there and rejoice. still havent fully grasped that. but they rejoiced for having been "counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the NAME"!!!(aka suffer for Christ) and then you know what they did?
THE CONTINUEd TEACHING IN THE NAME OF JESUS!!!
because you see, there message was not of man, It was not somethign made up by some crazy loon in some random place. it was and is and will always be TRUTH!!! it was of GOD'S son JESUS CHRIST. and it lasts and continues to spread because NOTHING WILL GET IN GOD'S WAY!!!

so all that to say, read chapter 5 of Acts...its pretty awesome!
